What is My Health? Is it a new product?

My Health is a new product under our Individual Health product line. We designed a whole new experience based on customer,broker, and market feedback to better reflect how Canadians access individual health insurance today. It offers clearer structure,more flexibility, and more comprehensive coverage—while our commitment to high-quality health support remains unchanged.

Why are we sunsetting the Personal Health product?

Our Personal Health product has been around for a very long time.  In conjunction with the launch of our new platform, we are offering a new product that aligns with our commitment to meet the needs of our customers. We conducted extensive research with brokers, customers, and the market to understand current gaps. My Health is designed to reflect how Canadians access health coverage today and to make it easier for you as brokers to explain and sell.

How is My Health different from the current Personal/Individual Health plan?

My Health keeps the foundational coverage but introduces:

  • A clearer and more streamlined product design structure

  • More flexibility to customize coverage to clients’ needs

  • More comprehensive built-in features, including Emergency Travel coverage

  • A product designed to make it easier to position, explain, and demonstrate value for your clients with confidence

When will My Health be available?

The My Health launch is planned for May 2026, starting with new customers only. A later phase will transitionexisting Personal Health customers.

Can I still sell Personal Health once My Health is launched?

No, My Health will be the new product for all new sales. However, for existing customers, they will be able to renew on Personal Health until the conversion exercise starts later in the year.   

How will existing customers be moved over?

We have put considerable thought into this and are working through a full transition plan.  Details will be shared as the plan develops and we anticipate this starting as early as the end of this year.  

Will My Health have different pricing?

Yes. My Health is a new product that is designed and priced differently. Pricing details will be communicated closer tolaunch. Please reach out to your RSD for product-specific pricing discussions.

Why are we introducing a new system?

We are modernizing our technology to replace the legacy platform. The new system delivers a smoother, more efficientdigital experience for both brokers and customers.

When will the new system be live?

We have tied the new system launch to our new My Health product launch in early May 2026.  More detailed timelines willbe shared soon.

Will I get training?

Yes, absolutely. All brokers will receive training before the system goes live. Watch out for communications from GMS. Training will cover everything you need to know about the new product and the new system.
