For the second year, GMS was the Presenting Sponsor for the 2026 SWAT Superhero Rappel, an event put on by the Hospitals of Regina Foundation (HRF) to raise money for pediatric programs.

“We’re proud to sponsor the Superhero Rappel for a second year. Supporting the youngest members of our community is one of the most important investments we can make. Every child deserves access to the care and programs that help them thrive, The Hospitals of Regina Foundation is creating lasting change for young patients and their families, and we’re honoured to contribute to programs that make a meaningful difference every day,” said Bal Gill, Acting CEO, GMS.

“We are thrilled to welcome back GMS as the presenting sponsor of this special fundraiser and event for the second year,” says Dino Sophocleous, president and CEO of Hospitals of Regina Foundation. “GMS has been a tremendous partner for many years and a great supporter of our mission to help provide our southern Saskatchewan community with the best health care possible. We are thankful for their investment in our pediatric programs through our SWAT Superhero event.”

Disguised as superheroes, and one villain, five Regina Police Service SWAT team members rappelled down the side of the Regina General Hospital Thursday morning. The children giggled with delight as they watched Batman, Deadpool, Star-Lord, Captain America and Bane rappel past the pediatric ward outside. As each made their way down, they stopped at the window for a moment to wave at the children, delighting the young patients and brightening their day. K( Boss and his handler (name) were also on hand to meet and greet the kids.

Later, the superheroes rappelled down the side of the building into the hospital courtyard for a public media event. In a show of their superhero skills, they caught Bane as he tried to flee with the money bag, and arrested him as the audience cheered.

The event raised over $15,000 for the cause.
